There are multifunction printers that have print speeds of up to 35 pages per minute but do not have Wi-Fi capabilities. The latter is one of the main strengths of MF8380Cdw although it has print speed of 21 pages per minute only.

Functioning as a copier, it can reduce documents to about 25% of the original size and enlarge them to about 400%. They are copied at a speed of 21 cpm with copy resolution of up to 600 x 600 dpi. A number of copy features are also introduced like memory sort, ID card copy, and frame erase. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder can be utilized for this function. The first page of color copy comes out in approximately 15 seconds. It would have an enhanced quality with cheaper generic ink replacing the more expensive original cartridges. The wireless feature of the unit empowers users to share with its use through their mobile devices.

However, it cannot undertake printing from an iPad. With the current popularity of this Apple tablet computer, it can be a serious drawback. Some users are not satisfied with the input tray’s capacity. Frankly speaking, the 250-sheet input tray with another optional 250-sheet tray is more than enough for the printer’s design. People who want more capacity in the paper trays should first try their combined capacity. Moreover, if users find the toner and ink a bit expensive, a practical option is lower cost generic ink. There is a 5-line LCD display on the MF8380Cdw for convenient navigation. A department ID management system is also integrated to control and monitor groups that are using the unit.
