Konica Magicolor 1600 is a simple, good-to-go printer that does the job adequately minus the hassles of bulky, high-end color printers. Physical body measures 10.9 by 15.6 by 15 inches, and its smaller footprint compared to its competition makes it ideal for home and micro office use like small offices and cubiles. It can sit comfortably on a desktop without taking too much space. The price is as reasonable as its size, but connectivity is limited to USB port. Input tray capacity is meager for 150 sheets. Package comes with installable CD ROM, power cord, USB cable and the four toner cartridges are already fitted inside the machine; saving you the trouble of inserting them yourself. It supports most Windows operating system up to Windows 7. Printing speed is 20 pages per minute for black and 5 pages for color. When the starter toner cartridges run out be aware that replacing them with Konica brand toner cartridges will run you a pretty penny. The alternative option of coarse, is to order your toner supplies in the aftermarket branded lower cost toner cartridges. The quality is still the same yet you will save a huge amount. Overall printing quality is also on the fair side. Texts are clear and sharp up to 5 point size. Half of the fonts tested also came out readable and well-formed. Graphic printing is at par with other laser printers, with a high resolution of up to 1200 x 600 dpi. It handles all basic media sizes decently, even Letter Plus sizes. Re-manufactured toners also work great with this series. As long as you choose toner with number 4 label.
