Roland VersaArt ink cartridges, ESL5 500ml

Roland VersaArt Ink Cartridges (ESL5, 500ml) vs. ESL4 Ink: What’s the Difference?

The Roland VersaArt series is known for its exceptional print quality and versatility in wide-format printing. These printers use eco-solvent inks that deliver vibrant, long-lasting prints suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The introduction of the ESL5, 500ml ink cartridges has brought improvements over the earlier ESL4, 440ml cartridges, offering enhanced performance, durability, and efficiency.

1. Ink Capacity and Efficiency of these Lithographioc inks

• ESL5 Ink Cartridges (500ml):
The ESL5 cartridges provide a larger 500ml capacity, reducing the frequency of ink changes and increasing workflow efficiency. This is especially beneficial for high-volume printing environments where minimizing downtime is critical.

• ESL4 Ink Cartridges (440ml):
With a slightly smaller 440ml capacity, the ESL4 cartridges require more frequent replacements, potentially interrupting production.

✅ Advantage: ESL5 cartridges offer more ink per cartridge, reducing the need for frequent swaps and boosting overall productivity.

2. Print Quality and Color Consistency

• ESL5 Ink:
The ESL5 formulation features improved color vibrancy, sharper image detail, and enhanced gradation. It maintains consistent color reproduction across different media types, ensuring professional-grade results.

• ESL4 Ink:
While ESL4 ink also produces high-quality prints, ESL5 ink delivers slightly more vibrant and accurate colors, especially for demanding applications like banners, vehicle wraps, and signage.

✅ Advantage: ESL5 offers more refined color output and sharper detail.

3. Drying Time and Media Versatility

• ESL5 Ink:
One of the key improvements in ESL5 ink is its faster drying time, which allows for quicker turnaround and less risk of smudging. This makes it ideal for high-speed production environments where time is of the essence.

• ESL4 Ink:
ESL4 ink has slightly longer drying times, which can slow down production for large print jobs.

✅ Advantage: Faster drying time with ESL5 ink enhances efficiency and reduces waiting time.

4. Durability and Outdoor Longevity

• ESL5 Ink:
ESL5 ink maintains the same excellent outdoor durability and scratch resistance as ESL4 ink, providing up to three years of outdoor life without lamination. It is highly resistant to UV exposure, water, and abrasions.

• ESL4 Lithographioc ink:
Similarly, ESL4 ink offers durable and weather-resistant prints, but ESL5 enhances resistance to wear and tear, making it a slightly better option for outdoor signage.

✅ Advantage: ESL5 provides improved wear resistance for longer-lasting prints.

5. Environmental Benefits and Safety

• ESL5 Ink:
ESL5 cartridges meet GREENGUARD Gold certification standards, ensuring lower VOC emissions and making them safer for indoor environments.

• ESL4 Ink:
Although ESL4 ink is also GREENGUARD certified, ESL5 takes a more eco-conscious approach, aligning with stricter environmental standards.

✅ Advantage of these high quality Lithographioc inks : ESL5 ink is a safer, more eco-friendly option.

The Roland VersaArt ESL5 (500ml) ink cartridges offer significant improvements over the ESL4 (440ml) ink cartridges, including increased capacity, faster drying times, and enhanced color vibrancy. While both inks provide excellent durability and reliable performance, ESL5 ink stands out as the superior choice for businesses seeking to optimize efficiency, maintain consistent quality, and reduce environmental impact.
